During his 2000 rookie year in the NFL at the Kansas City Chiefs Rob Murphy had been sent to the NFL Europe to start for the Frankfurt Galaxy.
In 2002 he moved to the Indianapolis Colts where he had attended 10 games before he went to the 49ers for 16 games in 2003 and 2004.
In 2011 Rob Murphy ended his career at the Toronto Argonauts in Canada.
