After his brief excursion to Duesseldorf head coach Mike Jones had been able to trigger Ed O`Neill`s return to the Frankfurt Galaxy, where the humorous defense expert became once again a World Bowl winning contributor thanks to his long Detroit Lions and NFL Europe experience.
In 1974 Linebacker Ed O`Neill got drafted by his Detroit Lions where he did play until 1979.
