On July 2005 Colombo was turned "Green" during a giant UNP demonstration organized by no one less than the current Honorable PM Ranil Wickremesinghe.
On that day the government had disallowed all public transports to minimize the demonstration, what had inspired Ranil Wickremesinghe and his UNP to bring in all their supporters by providing private buses.
And what a day it was, when so many buses had flooded the city to express their desire for peace and preserving the truce.
Colombo City had been different back on that crucial day in 2005, when the UNP party had organized their big demonstration using a large amount of buses from all over Sri Lanka, which had brought their demonstartors to Colombo.
And it had been a crucial election for Sri Lanka after which the second and final chapter of civil war had begun under former President Mahinda Rajapakse.
