Up in the Kandy mountains the mighty Mahavelli River Man seems to have an amazing business and lifestyle concept that earns him a fine living.
He simply jumps down from a small bridge which is perhaps 6 meters above the crocodile free water of the slow and lazy Mahavelli River.
In fact he is just enjoying the cool water in hot and steamy Sri Lanka whilst charging any foreigner that comes along as much as he can.
$3 per jump is his minimum demand but most obviously some tourists might even give him 5.000 rupees when not being familiar enough with the Sri Lankan currency.
At one time a Kadugannawa tuk tuk driver had demanded 5.000 rupees ($50) for a ride to Kandy and was ready to settle for 500 rupees ten seconds later, hari hari.
And once a Kandy tuk tuk driver had made such 5.000 rupees out of a naive Russian tourist by selling him a case of cigarettes for that price.
On a similar vibe the Mahavelli River Man seems to have a fine top shelve business without any costs at all.
Watch a boat ride to the Mahavelli River Man, who earns his living from jumping down from a small bridge.
