A giant opening ceremony with 15.000
dancers and a huge show had amazed 90.000 in a spectacular
arena and over 1 billion worldwide on TV. 7 years of planning
and preparation with an investment of $10 million had resulted
in one of the biggest shows that the world has seen so far.
All important leaders in the world had been around including
French Sarkozy, Wladimir Putin and George W. Bush.
Only German chancellor Merkel had preferred to stay away
from a moving and emotional ceremony, which had been the biggest
in the history of the Olympic games.
Chinese superstar Yao Ming had been leading his team in front
of 91.000 in raving Beijing at the biggest opening ceremony
in the history of the Olympic games.
Foreigners in Beijing feel overwhelmed by the friendliness
and enthusiasm of the Chinese people

One million almost free tickets have
been made available and Chinese citizens who are waiting in
long cues to get hold of them. Rates are around $1 - 1.50
Regular tickets are much cheaper than at the two previous
Olympics with starting at only $10 up to $100 for finals and
highlight events. Also a black market has been established
where for example tickets to Basketball games may cost 1000
Yuan instead of 50 Yuan.
