President Barack Obama
November 05, 2008
Barack Obama is going to be the President
of the United States of America within a few days, what is
going to be one of the most difficult jobs in the world and
most obviously the American people have shown, that the USA
are a unique country and society with being able to overcome
racism and other old school resentments when it comes down
to find the most capable person to do the job.
John McCain had been from the George W. Bush school alongside
his funny Sarah Palin whilst Barack Obama had even been able
to generate respect among not only experienced leaders like
Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice.
Around two years back I had heard his name for a first time
on a run down Sri Lankan train during a seven hour ride from
Galle to central Kandy mentioned by a young American intellectual
who had been out to the wild Asian South on a student exchange
program.
"His name even reads like Osama" this smart young
student had said and it was like gosh, how can a nigger (
using that word in the meaning that blacks choose when among
themselves ) win against Hillary and George.
"He is smart and he is cool" had been his answer,
but never having even heard of a Barrack Obama had made it
difficult to understand about the chance that America had
been presented with.
Now Americans have caught the curve to innovative ideas and
cool energy to replace old school concepts that have driven
the world economy and environment closer to Armageddon days
than anyone before.
Certainly Barack Obama will have to come up with solid solutions
and advanced communication skills when discussing urgent matters
with established world class leaders like Hu Jintao and Wladimir
Putin.
The fragile American economy, the Taleban, El-Qaeda and some
European extravaganza might be as challenging as the Latin
America, the Caribbean, Africa and most of the world when
it comes to relations to America.
So far Barack Obama had been more like a media star similar
to a Michael Jordan or former Michael Jackson, who had both
been equipped with first class PR experts. But this world
and America are much more real and tricky like the NBA or
MTV.
Obviously the joy and excitement about America and it`s ability
to go for Barack Obama is as wonderful as it earns a great
deal of respect to the American people.
But at the same time the whole world will be watching his
moves with big eyes and high hopes.
Iran, Japan and Russia had been only the first to test his
abilities with their destructive response to his election.
But no doubt, Barack Obama is progress and almost everyone
in the world is wishing him all the best to trigger changes
and improvements for the entire world.
Anyhow, with having elected Barack Obama, America has manifested
it`s ability for innovation, changes and freedom.
