Angkor Wat is only 5,5 kilometers away from Siem Reap, which is the second largest city in Cambodia where a very busy airport is offering excellent connections to the temple area.
In November 2010 the Angkor Wat complex was opened again to the public though access is still fairly limited due to ongoing restoration efforts which were started by French-led archeologists back in 1995.
